We've lived a life with Superficial Mind
Surprisingly
that most of the people (99%) live with their superficial minds throughout
their whole lives. Every day and every time, they always use their superficial
mind to react to any situations that happen in their lives without knowing that
the inner mind lay deep inside. Let me raise up a simple example, while we were
sleeping, we know that our body and mind are rested. However, when the
mosquitoes bite us, our hand slap that part of the body to kill those mosquitoes
while we ourselves don’t know what happen. More than that, while having a deep
sleep but our body is not in a good position, therefore, the body will turn and
move to different position without letting ourselves wake up. Why? Why the mind
is already take rest but still can control my body? Well, actually, it’s right
that the mind is already take rest but the deep inside mind does never take
rest. It’s clearly show that we have a very big gap in using the superficial
mind and the very deep inside mind that’s why the inner mind order the body
while the superficial mind know nothing.
So now,
we realize that we’ve been living with the lives of superficial mind for years,
for half of the lives or even for almost the whole lives. Every day, when
facing any events, the mind always react and give value whether to hate, to
love, to anger or to feel disgust. When we are angry, we try to get away from
that anger by counting from one to ten or by drinking more water or some people
prefer going out with friends to watch movies. It seems that the anger already
go away after we do those things, however, it doesn’t. We just turn our
attention into something else and those angers still lay inside ourselves. When
we start to think back to that situation, we might start to become angry again.
A very
best way and a very ancient way to get inside into the very deep mind to train
and live with it is to do vipassana. Vipassana is a method used to train the
inner mind, kill old Sangara ( what he have created in lives including anger,
hatred, sadness, excited,…).
